I saw a Mason jar ring wreath recently and loved the way it looked. It used larger rings then what I have used in this one and made for a more open wreath. All of my wide mouth rings are brand new and shiny, so that wasn’t the look I wanted. I will make larger ring one and hang it outside to let the weather give it a nice colorful patina.
I bought these small 63mm rings at an estate sale. They are even smaller then the modern small mouth rings. They were rusted perfectly, so I thought I would try them. The cord that you use to gather them doesn’t matter because it doesn’t show. I had this gold cord, but you can use a fabric strip or anything.
Just place the rings all facing the same way on the cord until you have the look that you like. Tie a secure knot and that’s it! You can add a colorful ribbon, raffia, or anything to decorate it. Because of where I was hanging it, I didn’t want anything too fancy, so I just made a jute bow.
