Here are some more crazy sales.  These 1980’s  Land Before Time plush dinosaurs were bought at a garage sale for $3.  They still have the tags from JC Penny and came with the store displays.

This is a Tiffany & Co. Sterling infant fork and spoon set, also purchased at a garage sale.  I didn’t really know what they were worth, but I knew they were heavy and sterling and only 50 cents!

Paid 50 cents – SOLD $134

I bought a box of Thomas Train cars and track and this car was in there.  I always look up the cars and found it was different from the other Thomas cars!

Paid $1 – SOLD $51

 

Total Paid $4.50 – Sold for $287.50 – $283 Profit!!

  1. Just wondering–did you get a resellers permit or tax no? do you keep track of this like a business or just consider it a little extra? I do some craigslisting– buy more often than I sell, but am seriously considering buying more stuff to sell. thanks! mary

    • I have had a business license for 32 years because I have multiple businesses. I do record mine, but really most people buy from sales for themselves, and may decide to sell it after all.

  2. this makes sense. I have one business and keep wondering if I can just put all my little streams of income under the same business. I have had a hard time finding out really what the actual rules are in my state, but on the other hand I don’t think they even know. LOL

    • Usually one license covers it all. I have had many businesses through the years and they all go under my one business name and license.
