Tim’s Famous Jerky

We look forward to deer season in hopes that the guys will get enough deer for jerky. This is a healthy snack, and unlike the jerky bought in the store, this contains no harmful chemicals.

You can use just about any kind of meat. Tim has used beef, deer, duck, goose, wild turkey, and even crow!

You can use an arm roast from your grocery store. Ask, sometimes they will slice it for you!

Jerky Ingredients


Ingredients:

4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
4 Tablespoons Worcestershire
1 Tablespoons Ketchup
1/2 Teaspoons Salt
1/4 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
1/4 Teaspoons Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoons Pepper

Mixing Ingredients

Combine all ingredients into a ziplock bag. Choose your meat and cut into 1/4″ slices. Add approximately 1 pound of sliced meat until covered with liquid. If you have more meat, make another bag of ingredients.

Ready to Marinate

Flatten the bags making sure all the meat in covered and store in the refrigerator overnight.

 

Be sure to use a dehydrator that has a fan, not just heat. Ours is set at 145 degrees, but follow the directions for yours.

 

Dehydrate for 8-10 hours or until the consistency you like. You may like it chewy or more crunchy!

Store in ziplock bags or airtight container.
